Bison Show Reserve
On an area of about 27 hectares, you can see all species of ungulates living in the Bialowieza Forest, as well as large carnivores, in conditions close to natural. Anyone traversing the trails of the Bialowieza Forest who was not lucky enough to see a bison can see one in the Reserve. A group of bison is presented there. Elk, deer, roe deer, wild boar and wolves or lynx also live in the enclosures. The Reserve also presents a group of tarpan-type horses.
Museum of Nature and Forestry
Special effects such as dimmed lights, day and night effects and sounds make it seem as if you are in the middle of the forest when you enter the museum. It exhibits the most characteristic forest communities of the Forest. In the museum you can see underground life in the forest, invertebrates, hoofed and predatory mammals and birds. The world of animals and plants associated with the earth and water environment, the phases of wood decomposition and the abundance of fungi are also brought closer. In the historical section, beekeeping, haying, wood processing for turpentine and the narrow-gauge forest railroad are interestingly presented.
Palace Park
The park was designed in the English style, also called landscape style, by a well-known planner - Walerian Kronenberg. Of the approximately 200 species of trees and shrubs planted here, nearly 90 have survived to this day. On the palace hill grows a group of pedunculate oaks, now more than 250 years old. Within the Park is the oldest building in Bialowieza - a wooden manor house from 1845, built for the Grodno governor - now the headquarters of the BPN Nature Education Center. On the causeway crossing the two ponds there is a sandstone obelisk - the oldest monument in Bialowieza, commemorating the hunting of August III Sas in 1752. On the territory of the park there are the Directorate, the Museum of Nature and Forestry and the BPN Guest Rooms.
Royal Oaks Trail
An educational trail of about 500 meters in length. The trail leads among monumental oaks that remember the times of medieval rulers of Poland and Lithuania, which is why each oak was named after Polish kings and Lithuanian princes. At each one there is an information plate with the age and size of the tree and a biography of the ruler whose name the oak bears. It takes less than a quarter of an hour to walk the path. Resting places have been created on the Royal Oaks Trail: a shelter in a clearing, benches along the route, a place for bonfires and outdoor events.
